SCC/SCP Certification

Reliable safety, health and environmental management

In safety-critical industries in particular, employers frequently do not rely on the expertise of their service providers alone, but pay conscious attention to compliance with specific safety and environmental protection measures. With your company’s SCC/SCP certification for compliance with health, safety and environment, or HSE for short, you demonstrate that you have the necessary qualifications.

Your SCC/SCP Certification at a glance

Clients from large-scale facilities and industrial parks in particular require the companies that work for them as contractors to provide proof of an SCC-certified HSE management. This consists of a combined management system for occupational health and safety in particularly safety-critical industries. But this certification is also suitable for manufacturers and service provider in other areas. Staffing companies that provide personnel to client companies, on the other hand, require SCP certification as proof of compliance with health, safety and environmental protection.
As part of our SCC/SCP certification, our experts audit and certify your company for its compliance with health, safety and environmental protection in accordance with the SCC regulations. For your successful certification, not only is the level of occupational health and safety assessed on site during the performance of a task, but a specific number of compulsory point from the SCC checklist also have to be successfully fulfilled. The total number depends on the number of employees in your company.
1. Information
Briefing and joint determination of next steps, on-site project meeting and preparation for certification with the appropriate document review
2. On-site certification
Readiness analysis and review of the management system, staff interviews, implementation of the documented statements in daily business, project assessment/project audit
3. Audit report and assessment
Results of our assessment, in the event of any issues, indications of potential optimizations and, if necessary, subsequent assessment
4. Certificate and seal
After successfully completing the certification, you will receive your certificate and the DEKRA certification seal (with a maximum validity period of three years)
5. Annual surveillance audits
The practical implementation is reviewed every 12 months
6. Recertification
Steps 2 to 6 are repeated in the recertification audit three years after initial certification
The SCC regulations originate from the German Society for Sustainable Energy Carriers, Mobility and Carbon Cycles e.V. (DGMK) and has applied since July 2011. It is based on German law and takes occupational safety and environmental management systems into account. It isn’t a guide that sets out requirements for the design, implementation and application of an OSH management system, however, but rather a kind of checklist. The checklist contains all test criteria that are relevant to the assessment within an audit and for the certification decision.
In this respect, there are various kinds of certification:
  • An SCC (safety certificate contractor) certification is intended for contractors and is particularly suited to technical service companies as well as subcontractors that operate at the premises of their contracting companies.
  • SCCP (safety certificate contractors for petrochemicals) certification has been developed specifically for the petrochemical industry.
  • An SCP (safety certificate personnel service) certification is suitable for companies that provide personnel to other companies.
The certification audit examines the following, among other things:
  • The organization and commitment of the management, HSE risk assessment and preparation for emergency situations
  • Assessment of the operational activities on site, such as construction sites, workshops and areas of production
  • Certification of individual persons with an entry in the personal safety pass, which is valid for several years: According to the HSE regulations, at least 90 per cent of the employees in an SCC-certified company working at the site of the client must have a valid safety pass.
