Validation & verification - what is the difference?
While certification and inspection focus primarily on compliance with standards and specifications, validation and verification are aimed at the integrity of company data and statements.
Statements and data that relate to future events are validated. This often involves forecast or simulated data for planned applications. These assumptions are checked for plausibility. In contrast, results that have already been achieved are verified. This involves checking real data for accuracy.
In addition to numerous legislators, companies also recognize the value of statements and declarations validated and verified by third parties in order to secure competitive advantages and differentiate their brand from the competition. Verification and validation audits, on the other hand, create the basis for companies to ensure legally compliant practices and promote transparent business processes.
