With the MAAS-BGW, the Employer’s Liability Insurance Association for Health Services and Social Welfare (BGW) has created a specialized quality management system with occupational safety for hospitals, care homes and other healthcare facilities. The management system requirements on occupational safety are a prevention model of the BGW. In this context, the requirements of quality management standards have been extended to include specific criteria.
The MAAS-BGW covers the following key topics:
- Occupational health and safety
- Assessment of the working conditions
- Handling of hazardous substances
- Occupational healthcare
- Emergency management
- Inspection and maintenance of work equipment
Quality management with integrated occupational safety supports companies in designing working conditions that support occupational health and safety in an efficient and sustainable manner. To help them achieve this goal, the employer’s liability insurance sociation offers advice, as well as a refund on their premiums for their successful certification according to the MAAS-BGW. This is generally 50% of the certification costs, up to a maximum of 50% of the annual fee to the BGW, not including insolvency payments, advances or external charges.
