The “High Level Structure”, or HLS for short, is a uniform overarching basic structure for all new, revised and future ISO standards. It facilitates the certification, integration and organization of several standard norms in a company through uniform terms and core statements. With the High Level Structure, the “Plan-Do-Check-Act” cycle, or CPDCA cycle for short, can be applied to all processes and is part of the continuous improvement process (CIP).
