Our KBA services at a glance

The Federal Motor Transport Authority monitors the approval of environmentally friendly and flawless technology for motor vehicles. To demonstrate that your vehicles or vehicle parts satisfy such requirements, you must obtain EC approval, EC type approval or type approval in accordance with the domestic and international road traffic laws. The basis for the approval from the KBA is the certification of a quality management system or the verification of production locations. The goal of the certification is to ensure that, in addition to the compulsory initial assessment, quality is ensured throughout the further production (Conformity of Production, CoP).

Federal Motor Transport Authority (German abbreviation: KBA) certification

Along with an ISO 9001 certification, we also audit your quality management system in terms of the requirements of the KBA and issue a supplementary KBA certificate after the successful audit. A combination with other quality management standards, such as the IATF or VDA 6.1, is also possible. This offer is aimed primarily at manufacturers of complete vehicles who already have a QMS certification or would like to be certified. In addition to the initial certification, we can also support you with the recertification every three years.

KBA verification

If you do not have a QMS certification and do not wish to have such a certification carried out, we also offer KBA (CoP statement) verification. Our experts support you throughout the procedure, from the initial verification to the re-verification every three years. Verification is suitable for small to medium-sized companies in the automotive sector (only applicable for companies that have partial appraisals).

Initial KBA assessment

We also support you with your initial KBA assessment on the basis of a CoP statement that we have verified. On this basis, you can apply for approval from the KBA both efficiently and in a time-saving manner. Our experts not only assess whether the procedures in your organization have been implemented in accordance with the CoP statement, but also check which approval-relevant requirements are of importance for you.
