An ISO 17100 Certificate in just a few steps
In the course of ISO 17100 certification, we check and evaluate various factors, such as the quality of your services, the translation processes, the qualifications of your employees and the management of your business processes. This requires discussions, tests and reports.
Our inspections are carried out on the basis of the requirements of ISO 17100. Among others, these focus on:
  • Standardized processes and quality characteristics
  • Professional quality and project management
  • Defined procedures and documented proof of regular training for all the employees involved
  • Competence and development of the project leadership
  • Information security for project-related customer information
  • Double-check principle (translation by a specialist translator and subsequent revision by a proofreader who is also qualified)
  • Subject matter expertise for translators
All of the employees who are involved in translation services (translation, terminology, project management, etc.) are also required to fulfill at least one of the following criteria:
  • A recognized qualification from a higher education institution with a degree in translation
  • A recognized degree level qualification from a higher education institution and at least two years of professional experience in translation
  • At least five years’ full-time professional experience as a translator
Your ISO 17100 Certification procedure
1. Information
Project Meeting (by telephone or in person) and preparation for the certification
2. On-site document review and audit
Description of the management system, verification of the quality-related capability towards your customers, implementation of the documented statements in daily business
3. Audit report and assessment
Results of the assessment, recommendations for potential optimizations and post-evaluation
4. Certificate and seal
After successfully completing the certification, you will receive your certificate and our DEKRA certification seal (with a maximum validity period of three years)
5. Regular surveillance audits
Annual surveillance of the implementation of the requirements in practice
6. Recertification
Steps 2 to 6 are repeated in the recertification audit three years after initial certification
