IFS Broker is the leading standard for the verification of the service-related compliance of companies in the food industry. It defines the audit criteria for brokers, retail and trade representatives and food importers to ensure compliance with the food-related regulations, the customer requirements and the prevention of food-related fraud. The latest update to Version 3.2 was necessary for meeting the changing requirements in the food industry and to create a uniform IFS structure.
Key information on the transition
The application of Version 3.2 of the IFS Broker Standard is binding from July 1st, 2024. From this date, all audits have to be performed according to the new version. Please take this into account in your audit planning. All audits that take place from July 1st, 2024, onwards are to be conducted in accordance with the IFS Broker 3.2 standard.
IFS is developing a new doctrine for Version 3.2 that clarifies the schedule for the application of the new IFS Broker Version 3.2 and the specific requirements. This doctrine is a standards document and an essential part of the corresponding standard version. IFS will provide a notification as soon as the document is available.
