Certification according to the GWO standard

Increased occupational safety in the wind energy industry based on uniform standards

The wind energy industry is required to ensure occupational health and safety for its operational personnel as far as possible. For this reason, the Global Wind Organization (GWO) was formed by leading representatives of the industry, and standards have been established for a variety of safety training courses.

The GWO standards enable companies in the industry to ensure a uniform level of occupational safety and health for their employees. The criteria are specifically aligned to the requirements of the wind energy industry.
We offer you the appropriate certification according to the GWO standard. This ensures a high and uniform level of qualification of your employees and training staff.

Our service at a glance

The GWO certification encompasses both the training organization itself and a range of predefined training modules. The following standards and training modules are currently defined:
GWO Basic Safety Training Standard (BST) and/or GWO Basic Safety Training Standard Refresher (BSTR)
    • First Aid
    • Working at Heights
    • Sea Survival
    • Manual Handling
    • Fire Awareness
    The certification procedure
    1. Deciding on the right modules
As a training provider, you decide on the training modules that you would like to offer, and you will then receive an offer from us. After placing the order, the auditor will coordinate the appointments with you.
    2. Audit
    Stage 1- Audit:
If you need a new certificate, we carry out a Stage 1– audit.
As part of this audit, our auditors will review your quality management system. This includes the design of the training courses and the qualification of the training staff. The audit largely consists of a documentation review. You do not yet have to complete any training. Stage 1– serves for admission to the Stage 2 – Audit.
    Stage 2– Audit
This audit is the certification audit. In addition to auditing of your quality management system, the training modules are audited both regarding theoretical aspects and in terms of methodical-didactic implementation (work shadowing).
    3. Reporting
Our auditor subsequently prepares an audit report.
    4. Issuing of the certificate
If no deviations any non-conformities are found, you will receive your certificate.
    5. Surveillance audit
An annual surveillance audit takes place
    6. Recertification
The recertification takes place before the expiry of two years
