EU Digital Identity Framework Regulation
DEKRA certifies the first Qualified Preservations Service provider in Italy
DEKRA, a global leader in testing, inspection and certification (TIC) services, and a recognized Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) under eIDAS Regulation, has officially certified Namirial, a company leading the digital transformation of businesses, professionals, PAs and individuals. This achievement marks a significant milestone as Namirial becomes the first Trust Service Provider (TSP) in Italy to be certified for offering qualified preservation services.
Namirial, already a long-standing QTSP for several trusted services, has partnered DEKRA to become certified as a Qualified Preservation Service (QPRES) Certified TSP. This choice, considering the new EU Digital Identity Framework Regulation (EU 2024/1183), in force since May 2024 and fully applicable by 2026, represents an opportunity for the ever-expanding transformation and internationalization of data and digital object management services that Namirial can offer.
The qualified preservation service enables organizations to ensure long-term validity, integrity and legal reliability of qualified signatures and seals, maintaining the data associated with them secure despite future technological advancements. As digitalization progresses, preserving these data over time will be crucial for businesses, public administrations and individuals alike.
This eIDAS audit process for obtaining the qualified preservation service certification began with DEKRA’s expert mapping ETSI standards to bridge the gap between the theorical framework and its practical application. As QPRES is a modular service, it enables Namirial to offer its clients document management solutions throughout their entire lifecycle. This underscores their leadership in electronic archiving in this ever-evolving digital landscape.
“QPRES represents a unique differentiator in Namirial’s portfolio, ensuring the long-term preservation of the evidential value of electronic signatures. It complements our main qualified electronic archiving service by offering an alternative to our customers, further strengthening our European growth path. The involvement of DEKRA as a CAB in the accreditation process reinforces the importance of independent, trusted evaluation in delivering, high-assurance services.” emphasized Ugo Di Iorio, Chief Product Officer at Namirial.
MarĂa JosĂ© Prieto, eIDAS Audit Manager at DEKRA stated: “The qualified preservation service will become critical for businesses as digitalization continues to grow. DEKRA is proud to deliver the highest level of eIDAS services to trust service providers. This achievement with Namirial highlights our commitment to advancing digital trust and electronic identification services.”
Recently, DEKRA has expanded its services portfolio with a new accreditation from the Spanish Entidad Nacional de AcreditaciĂłn (ENAC) for two new eIDAS certification services: the qualified validation services for qualified signatures and electronic seals.
This reinforces DEKRA’s role as an accredited CAB for the EU Digital Identity Framework Regulation. With our expertise, we promote cross-border interoperability and support our customers to comply with the future regulatory framework, strengthening their position at the forefront of digital identification services in the EU.
