Certified Quality when Visiting a Physician
DEKRA now offers audits and certifications in accordance with Germany’s QEP® standard for quality and development in physicians’ offices. The QEP® standard was conceived especially for use in the offices of physicians and psychotherapists. DEKRA Certification is the first body to receive the corresponding accreditation from German accreditation body DAkkS.
QEP® is the quality management process developed by Germany’s regional and national physicians’ associations (KV and KBV). It provides independent confirmation of quality management (QM) for physicians’ offices and medical centers. The process also offers practical tips and support on issues such as patient care, patients’ rights, and patient safety, employees and training, management and organization, and quality improvement.
The basis for QEP® certification is the quality targets catalog, which covers the many aspects and tasks connected with work in a physician’s office. As a neutral third party or QEP-Visitor®, DEKRA audits the quality management system by way of a document review and an on-site visit. Following initial certification, the quality management system is subject to continuous monitoring and must be recertified after three years.
