Quick and competent approval as a training provider through AZAV certification

To improve the chances of successful integration of jobseekers into the jobs market, the legislator makes use of certified training providers and training measures in accordance with the German Regulation on Accreditation and Approval for Employment Promotion (AZAV) for integration into employment. In this respect, successful certification is considered to be an approval, and is therefore a prerequisite for participation in the market for employment promotion as specified by the provisions of Book III of the German Social Code (SGB).

Your approval as a provider according to the AZAV at a glance

All training providers and recruitment agencies can be certified as providers as a whole or have individual training offers certified and thereby demonstrate that they meet all the requirements of Book III of the German Social Code and the AZAV. If you are approved as a training provider according to the AZAV, jobseekers can redeem their training vouchers or their activation and placement vouchers (AVGS) from the Federal Employment Agency or Jobcenter in your company. Training providers can be granted approval according to the AZAV for five years. Measures can be certified for a maximum of three years.

The AZAV certification procedure
Step 1 – provider approval
Provider approval is compulsory for all training providers and includes a documented assessment and subsequent on-site audit. This requires efficiency, reliability, personal and professional suitability, a quality assurance system and the appropriate contractual conditions for the participants.
Step 2 – approval of measures
As a rule, the approval of measures is a documented assessment of the measures for the activation and integration into employment as well as the measures for further vocational training which are promoted with the activation and placement voucher (AVGS) and/or the training voucher (BGS). An exception here are recruitment agencies. For the approval, the concept of the measure, the costing of the measure and other documents are assessed in terms of their appropriateness for their purpose, cost effectiveness and efficiency as well as appropriate conditions for participation.
Step 3 – complementary further training measures
The approval is subject to the demonstration of the specific requirements applicable to the measure in question.
